Every surfboard blank starts with the foam core, and that core influences how the finished board feels in the water.
The two most common foam types are polyurethane (PU), the traditional material used in surfboard construction for decades, and expanded polystyrene (EPS), a lighter alternative that has become increasingly popular in modern board building.
