OPAQUE PIGMENT
Opaque Pigments create a solid, non-transparent colour effect when added to resin at a higher pigment-to-resin ratio. Using a lower pigment-to-resin ratio will result in a more translucent finish, while increasing the pigment ratio will produce a more solid, deeper, and more opaque colour.
Shapers Colour Co uses a specialised binder (carrier) that allows our pigments to be used with both Polyester and Epoxy resin systems. Our pigments are formulated with high-quality, heavily saturated base colours to deliver strong, vibrant colours with excellent UV resistance.
General Application:
Pigments are added during the laminating process.
Add pigment to the resin before adding catalyst (hardener).
Add pigments gradually to achieve the desired opacity and colour depth.
Mix thoroughly, then add catalyst (hardener) and laminate.
Please Note:
Computer screen resolutions may display colours slightly differently from the actual pigment colour. Colours may also vary once mixed into resin. The pigment-to-resin ratio will determine the final colour intensity, ranging from a more translucent effect to a solid, opaque finish.
Warning:
A pigment-to-resin ratio above 3% may affect curing and hardness properties. Please experiment with mixing ratios before laminating, as catalyst ratios may need to be adjusted.
Compatibility:
Designed for use with both Polyester and Epoxy resin systems.
